Efficiency Manitoba currently offers several home energy rebates for upgrading windows and doors, smart thermostats, insulation, appliances, pool pumps, solar PV systems, and more through the Efficiency Manitoba Energy Efficiency Program.

Efficiency Manitoba offers rebates up to $12,000 to help build certified energy-efficient new homes through the New Homes Program. The program includes design assistance, detailed energy modelling, and an official EnerGuide label and home energy report from Natural Resources Canada for qualifying projects.

Property owners who install a geothermal heat pump system in Manitoba can receive tax credits from the Manitoba government as a 7.5% tax credit with the Green Energy Equipment Tax Credit.

The rebate applies to geothermal heat pumps that are manufactured in Manitoba for use, and residents may also qualify for a 15% tax credit – on the remainder of the capital costs of the geothermal system (excluding the heat pump) if the installer is certified by the Manitoba Geothermal Energy Alliance.

Through the Solar Panel Rebate Program, Efficiency Manitoba offers a rebate of $0.50 per direct current (DC) watt installed on homes connected to Manitoba Hydro’s grid, up to a maximum of 10 kW and $5,000 per home. Businesses are also eligible to maximum rebates of $25,000 for projects up to 50 kW.

Efficiency Manitoba offers a variety of free home efficiency upgrades, including insulation, gas furnaces, gas boilers, and more, for income-qualifying households through the Income Qualified Program.

With the First Nations Insulation Program, Efficiency Manitoba offers free energy-efficient upgrades and direct installation of insulation, LED lighting, low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators, pipe wrap, and draft proofing for First Nations Communities.
